MEC Artworks was founded on a single conviction: that mosaic is not a finish — it is a permanent, living record of the finest intentions of its time. What began as a family atelier has grown into one of the world’s foremost bespoke mosaic studios, trusted by the most discerning architects, designers, and private clients on every continent.
Today, from our London studio, we serve clients across the United Kingdom and globally — bringing to every commission the same exacting standards, the same patience with revision, and the same reverence for the material that has defined us from the beginning.

MEC began as a family-run atelier, where the ancient techniques of mosaic — the precise cutting of smalti, the patient laying of tesserae, the slow emergence of image from fragment — were passed from one generation to the next. Our foundation is built not on trend or technology, but on the timeless integrity of craft made by hand.
The Evolution

As we evolved, MEC embraced the possibilities that new design tools opened — not to replace the hand of the artisan, but to extend its reach. Today, our process weaves together 3D visualisation, digital colour matching, and precision dimensioning with the irreplaceable warmth of tiles placed one by one. It is this balance — ancient and contemporary in equal measure — that our clients recognise immediately.
